Elm Creek Snow Tubing

Our January meeting is coming up soon!

We will be meeting at Elm Creek Park Reserve in the Chalet at 3:00 on Sunday January 22nd.  Plan to arrive a little early so we can all go tubing together.  Dress warm, wear boots and gloves or mittens and plan to tube from 3:15- 5:15.  Yes, you do have to tube to participate in the meeting!  A two hour pass is $12.  You can pay with Cash or a credit card.

This is a required au pair meeting, host parents you are required to provide transportation for au pair meetings (car/gas; ride; arrange a carpool; etc)  Host families, you are also welcome to come and bring the kids tubing!  Would love to see you all on the hill.

December Au Pair Meeting - Dinner out!

Friday December 16th at 6:45 p.m.!

For our December Au Pair meeting we will be meeting at Bucca Di Beppo Italian Restaurant in Maple Grove for a holiday dinner party.  Please arrive by 6:45 for our reservation.  Everyone should bring CASH to pay for thier dinner along with a $5 wrapped gift that will be exchanged during dinner for our Christmas gift exchange.

Because I have a reservation our space is limited, so please let me know if you will be attending or not.  If you would like to bring a guest I need to know in advance to be sure to have enough spaces.  Guests should also bring a wrapped gift to exchange.

HALLOWEEN PARTY 2011!

It was great to see everyone in costume and all the au pairs were great sports as they participated in games and fun!

Shalene joined our group in August 2011, she finished her first year in the Minneapolis area and joined our Au Pair group for an extra six months.  Shalene will be caring for twin boys in Ramsey, MN and will be here until February 2012.  Shalene is from South Africa and enjoys hiking, camping, and cooking.  Welcome to the group Shalene!

We will have a costume contest with a prize so be creative.

Friends are welcome just let us know how many are coming.

Host parents this is just an fyi, since we are having two meetings in October we will not be meeting formally in November.  However please let me know if you need something, or have questions!

It’s that time of year again for our host families and au pairs to come together for a day at the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze!

We will be going to the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze in Brooklyn Park.  We will plan to be there from 4-6 p.m.  on Sunday October 16th.  Enter at the gate and I will set up at a table in the picnic area for us to gather and meet and greet.  You are welcome to explore the maze, slides, corn pit, petting zoo, play area or just sit and enjoy the music with a bag of fresh popped kettle corn!

Admission is  $9 per guest, children under 36 inches are free. They accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.  There is an additional charge for food, helicopter rides, giant slide, climbing wall and hayride.  Visit the website at

Au Pairs from around the world spent a Saturday morning packing meals to feed children around the world!  On Saturday, September 17th - 15 au pairs spent 2 hours at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids, MN.  During that time we packaged 88 boxes of food which is 19,008 meals!  That is enough to feed 53 kids for one year!  Thanks to a great group of hardworking au pairs!

Katia and Joyce Begin a 2nd Year as Au Pairs!

Congratulations to Katia and Joyce for beginning their 2nd year as au pairs in Minnesota.  Both au pairs arrived from Brazil last  August and will be spending a 2nd year with their host families in Rogers and Maple Grove.  I look forward to having them around another year!
